Having written about the events and circumstances in North Korea, I now feel it imperative to speak about the current situation in Iran. I believe these Iranians who are protesting are trying to reach out to the Western world and, especially, America. This belief is supported by the high amount of protest signs written in English. These people have the same complaints about their government that we find threatening to our security. I believe it is advisable to promote these protesters and aid them as best we can, since it is a great opportunity to rid ourselves of a major threat, and prevent ourselves from entering another war in the future. As we can see, the focus of the War in Iraq is not a conflict against a government with troops in uniform, but a conflict against terrorist groups within the country, not the country itself. We are now trying to stop threats that aren't coming from other countries, but we have to police up those countries to avoid being attacked by groups within the country. So let's learn our lesson and aid these protesters, who are hoping for a free life without oppression, and allow these countries that may be subject to conflict in the future to straighten themselves out.
